Oracle has announced new AI-powered agent capabilities for its Textura Payment Management Cloud Service, providing real-time, personalised assistance to subcontractors. These generative AI-driven capabilities aim to speed payment enquiries and administrative operations, allowing subcontractors across the United States to access information and complete critical activities more efficiently.

Oracle Textura, one of the most extensively used construction payment platforms, has enabled over $1 trillion in payments for subcontractors across more than 120,000 projects, helping over 200,000 subcontractors since its inception in 2006. Subcontractors currently contact Textura support an average of 11,500 times each month, primarily for information on payment timeframes and application statuses. The implementation of AI-powered support is expected to dramatically minimise these enquiries by giving rapid, automated solutions from within the platform.

With this new AI feature, subcontractors can simply ask queries like, “What is the status of my payment?” and receive instant, contextual responses. The AI assistant may walk users through payment processes, highlight any missing compliance paperwork, and even supply the appropriate forms to complete. This eliminates the need for subcontractors to navigate various screens or wait for support, saving time and increasing efficiency.

Mike Antis, Oracle Textura’s Global Vice President, emphasised the necessity of making timely and precise payments to subcontractors. “Subcontractors play an important part in project success, but the payment process can be complicated. Textura was created to simplify this, and with the inclusion of AI-powered support, we’re making it even easier,” he said. Mike Antis emphasised that by providing 24/7 in-app support, Oracle not only improves the user experience for subcontractors, but also assists general contractors in strengthening connections with their partners while decreasing costly support calls.

With over 200,000 subcontractors using Textura each month, these AI-powered advancements are a huge step towards modernising construction payment management. Oracle continues to improve the payment experience by eliminating administrative friction and providing fast support, allowing subcontractors to focus on their job rather than paperwork.
