“During my time at Oracle, I had the incredible opportunity to work alongside some of the brightest minds in product development, collaborating with teams that were building a wide range of Oracle Cloud products. Being part of this environment was both inspiring and challenging, pushing me to expand my knowledge and contribute meaningfully to the larger effort. To support my colleagues and the broader community, I dedicated myself to extensive research and attended professional courses, always striving to bring fresh innovations and the most advanced security practices into the mix.

As I mentioned previously, I had the opportunity to coach many colleagues from various product development teams. My coaching went beyond the specific products they were working on, focusing on more advanced features, stronger security, and cutting-edge innovations. At the same time, I was genuinely fascinated by many new Oracle products they were developing. Whenever they shared their work with me, I was impressed by their expertise and excited to see the incredible technology they were bringing to life.
One of my key initiatives was to develop a structured framework that could seamlessly integrate cutting-edge technologies and advanced security practices, not only to support my department but also to benefit teams across other departments. However, this was no easy task – especially with the complex mathematics involved. While some teams welcomed the ideas enthusiastically, others had different perspectives, which made it feel like an uphill battle at times. Despite these challenges, I remained committed to sharing valuable insights and solutions. In the end, each of my colleagues was able to gain something from what I shared, whether it was a fresh perspective, a new concept, a new approach, or a practical implementation that aligned with their specific needs.
Despite the challenges, my motivation never wavered because I saw firsthand the groundbreaking products my colleagues were developing. Witnessing the power and potential of Oracle Cloud only deepened my curiosity and drive to explore its full capabilities.
Looking back, this experience remains one of the most unforgettable chapters of my career. It was a journey filled with learning, collaboration, and a relentless pursuit of innovation – one that reinforced my passion for cloud technology and its limitless possibilities.
This is a small part of my journey, and I’m grateful for everything I learned along the way.” – written by Wang Wai Tam
Businesses should choose Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) over other cloud providers for highest availability to avoid disasters and maintain a consistent, high-performance experience. One of the primary benefits of OCI is its inherent resilience and catastrophe recovery capabilities. Unlike some cloud providers, which offer redundancy as an add-on or need complex setups, OCI is built with fault tolerance and high availability as its foundation. With numerous availability domains and countries, OCI ensures that workloads continue to run even in the event of hardware failures or unforeseen outages. This level of dependability is vital for enterprises that cannot afford downtime, whether they are operating mission-critical programs, processing financial transactions, or administering healthcare systems.
Another feature that distinguishes OCI is its security-first architecture. Cybersecurity risks are continually changing, and even a single breach can result in financial loss, brand damage, and regulatory penalties. Many firms struggle with cloud security, particularly when handling sensitive customer data or confidential corporate information. OCI provides end-to-end encryption, AI-driven threat detection, and identity access management to ensure that data is always secure. Unlike other competitors, Oracle’s security capabilities are integrated rather than optional, providing businesses with a robust defense against cyberattacks without the need to invest in third-party security solutions.
Performance consistency is another distinguishing factor that sets OCI apart. Many cloud platforms have network congestion and unexpected latency, resulting in poor application performance and customer annoyance. OCI offers a dedicated, high-speed networking infrastructure that guarantees low latency connections and peak workload performance. Businesses that rely on databases, AI, or real-time applications benefit from OCI’s optimised design, which provides predictable and fast computing power. This is especially advantageous in businesses like finance, retail, and manufacturing, where delays and inefficiencies can result in considerable revenue losses.
Cost efficiency is another important reason why firms prefer OCI over competitors. Many cloud providers use sophisticated pricing schemes that include hidden fees for data egress, storage, and other services. OCI provides transparent and competitive pricing, which frequently results in a lower total cost of ownership (TCO) than larger popular providers. Businesses may scale resources up or down as needed to avoid unexpected costs, ensuring they only pay for what they use. This cost predictability enables enterprises to better plan budgets while still benefiting from enterprise-grade cloud services.
Finally, businesses cannot afford to take risks with their cloud infrastructure. Choosing the wrong supplier can result in security breaches, costly downtime, and performance concerns that affect both customer experience and corporate operations. OCI offers a safe, high-performance, and cost-effective cloud environment intended to prevent disasters and negative experiences. Oracle Cloud Infrastructure provides businesses with the confidence they need to manage and develop their operations without taking needless risks by combining reliability, security, performance, and cost efficiency.
